CARD BASES

Cards come in different shapes and sizes. Use the table above as a guide for scoring and cutting cardstock for the most popular card sizes.

The above table identifies the initial size of the cardstock for one card base. To use the table above you would need to cut the cardstock into the dimensions identified in column two then score. As I make multiple quantities of the same card I learned a trick from Jennifer McGuire that allows you to use a standard cardstock size (8-1/2 × 11), score once, and cut once for two A2 Card Bases. (A2 is my size of choice)

Step 1 - Put cardstock in score board short side across the top.

Step 2 - Score at 4-1/4 inches

Step 3 - Fold at score and cut on long side at 5-1/2”

Two Side folded A2 Card Bases.

For Top Fold - start with long side across top, score at 5-1/2, fold and cut at 4-1/4.
